Take a free test

This pathology form is to request a simple test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea. This service is available for people aged 16 years and over. If you are under 16 and want an STI test, visit a doctor or a sexual health clinic.

It is possible to catch an STI if you have unprotected anal, oral or vaginal sex.

Chlamydia and gonorrhoea can infect the rectum, genitals or throat, so if you have had oral or anal sex you may also need a rectal or throat swab. To test for other STIs such as syphilis or HIV you may need a blood test.

If you do not have a vagina or are unable/unwilling to take a self-obtained lower vaginal swab you may provide a first void urine sample.

Your test result is confidential and available after 5 working days.
